Jemme Restaurant Bali

Jemme Restaurant Bali is brainchild of a London jeweller who decided to take on Seminyak’s dining scene. Boutique jewellery shop, House of Jemme, has successfully combined a showroom and a restaurant under one roof. Glam interiors and jewellery pieces, a gourmet menu with locally sourced ingredients, and a host of inspiring signature cocktails come together to create a unique dining experience. Jemme Restaurant may not be large, but three separate dining sections offer varied settings for fine and casual dining.

Settings to Suit Your Mood It’s bright and cheerful inside the House of Jemme; the boutique highlights a collection of high-end jewellery, while the adjoining Jemme Restaurant’s fine dining room looks like an extension to it with mirrors and trinkets behind glass cases against a white wall in a lilac dominated room. Shiny dining tables reflect the subtle lighting of crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. There are plush sofas and chairs for a company of four to six next to a small bar and open kitchen. A compact patio with a Balinese shrine and four tables offers views to an adjacent rice field. This option makes for enjoyable open-air lunches or coffee and a book, with a view that is becoming quite rare in these parts. By night, the garden lamps and ornamental lighting are perfect for romantic dinners.

Food and Drinks Jemme Restaurant’s menu brings together original dishes overseen by an Australian chef. We had the garlic and herb-baked Portobello mushroom for appetizer. Topped with a mushroom trio, sautéed leek and grilled with parmesan and garlic butter sauce, this was one good way to start. We skipped soup, but reserved the onion cappuccino, a caramelised onion soup for our next visit. Our oven roasted, corn-fed chicken was a juicy treat to share, served boneless with cauliflower cream, buttered peas and three types of gravies. If you haven’t yet the chance to try Bali’s famous treat of babi gulingor spit-roast pork on your holiday, try Jemme’s take on the dish, slow braised and served with steamed rice, traditional soup and condiments. Jemme’s menu also has pasta selections, from risottos to spaghettis. Jemme’s drink list covers a good variety of classics and signature blends. Here, you’ll find champagne cocktails, classics such as the likes of Bellini and Kir Royale, to Jemme’s own fruity and creamy martinis such as Lychee & Lavender, and the Raspberry Milky Bar. A long wine list presents labels from around the world. Non-alcoholic selections include Jemme’s refreshing blends, such as the blueberry swoon and the mint wake up fresh mixed juice.

Romantic Dining Jemme Restaurant is ideal for couples, offering romantic moods throughout different dining settings. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers tasty gourmet dishes at affordable prices – made possible due to its determination in using all local produce. The waiters are attentive and respectful when it comes to space and privacy.
